About the Picture

This closeup picture is from Vancouver Biennale, an environmental artwork created by Konstantin Dimopoulos.

Whole trees were painted blue, with a biologically-safe natural pigment in water. The artwork was created to raise awareness about global deforestation issues, and ignite the discussion so we, humans are more aware and start taking care of our planet.

The artist created this “exhibition” in various locations worldwide, in big cities in places so they could easily be spotted by the people walking by.

I really like the idea and the way it was presented to the public. Trees painted blue, also look beautiful as you can see in the picture.

I’m not sure if that’s the correct order of things. But thanks to the artwork, “The Blue Trees Project” started, and many people are involved in it. Many people participated in Vancouver, Melbourne, Denver, etc. painting the trees to raise awareness about global deforestation problems.

I love it!
